Job Summary:
Under general direction the Vendor Management Analyst (VMA) acts as a primary point-of-contact between HDFS and its vendor partners. This position is responsible for traveling to vendor locations in order to facilitate training and support/monitor our programs. The VMA acts as a liaison between internal cross-functional teams and vendors. Utilizing tools such as Business Objects and Access, the VMA works with process owners (internal and external) to maintain and improve performance through efficient and effective use of resources. Develops, distributes and audits reports to track vendor and/or process performance and assist in developing benchmarks for future project implementation. Also, assists in evaluating implementing champion/challenger strategies between competing vendors.
Primary Responsibilities
Support:
- Provides support for vendor partners as primary/initial point of contact.
- Evaluates and resolves escalated accounts.
- Provides training to integrate vendors into HDFS’ business model and culture to create a seamless experience for our customers.
- Reviews on-site performance and adherence to documented policies and procedures.
- Provides coaching to vendor partner associates and supports team improvements.
- Monitors and evaluates live and recorded calls by vendor partner associates.
- Regularly meets with vendor partners to properly calibrate call monitoring guidelines.
Reporting:
- Reviews reports to determine performance and audit accounts.
- Meets with members of management to discuss reports and findings.
- Presents reports to appropriate management and vendors in timely fashion.
- Recommends establishment of new or modified procedures to improve vendor performance.
- May prepare revised practices, procedures, or policies of vendor management.
- Examines and evaluates vendor management to develop new, or improve existing format, use, and control.
- Responsible for creating and providing functional and operational reports to executive management that provides essential information to manage the business.
- Refine and streamline existing vendor management procedures.
Analytics & Recommendations:
- Identify opportunities for improvement between vendors and HDFS and develop action plans with management for positive change.
- Works directly with internal cross-functional teams to explain and clarify business requirements, prioritize business requests, and review the status of work being performed.
- Monitors and reports departmental quality and efficiency through evaluation or productivity versus performance standards. Recommends procedure changes to improve productivity and increase budget savings.
- Evaluates findings, using knowledge of workflow and operating practices.
- Benchmarks with industry peers to learn and incorporate industry best practices.
- Investigates/resolves and/or implements solutions to work related problems, as required.

- Special projects as requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Responsible for protecting employees, customers and corporate information. Follows established physical, electronic and procedural safeguards, including policies regarding data protection, segregation of duties, use of passwords, and access to information based solely on business need. In addition, any company-proprietary information (including but not limited to customer information) may not be transferred or transported outside of HDFS by employees upon leaving the company.
- Maintains a current awareness and understanding of appropriate banking laws, regulations, internal policies and procedures, and to comply fully with those laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
Education Required:
Bachelor's Degree Preferred
Experience Required:
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in related roles
- Microsoft Access
- SAP Business Objects
- Monarch – Business intelligence and reporting software
- Experience in working with 3rd party vendors
- Experience in working with Remarketing data
