Job Summary:
This Sr. Solution Design Lead role is responsible for developing technical solutions that achieve business objectives for the HDFS Consumer Credit portfolios. This role is responsible for developing the overall vision that underlies the projected solution and transforms that vision through execution into the solution. This role becomes involved with a project at the time of inception and works closely with the respective business partner and IT business consultants/systems analyst to understand the business need and ultimately shape technical solutions for HDFS. He/she documents the current state and develops possible to-be future state designs based on project requirements and organizational objectives. This role is responsible for developing specific project deliverables including the technical solution approach and technical design documents and supporting the development teams to implement the solution. This role performs technology research, participates in vendor RFI/RFP processes, participates in project toll-gates, leads design reviews and collaborates with Enterprise Architects and other H-D IT teams to ensure the intended design meets enterprise objectives. Once the solution design is approved the solution designer is responsible to leading the technical implementation of the solution. This work normally involves supporting and mentoring the development teams, attending project scrums, and leading the team through the more technical challenges of the implementation.
To be effective the Solutions Designer should have broad exposure to many technologies, a strong development background, experience on multiple hardware and software environments, experience leading multiple projects through the Solution Design process or Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and has usually performed in a variety of different roles in that life cycle. This role also demands strong communication skills and ability to document, share and communicate ideas at all levels of the organization including executive staff, business sponsors, and other technical resources.
The Solutions Designer is viewed as a technical expert in many categories. The ideal candidate for this role would have experience is Financial Services, Loan Originations, Loan Servicing and/or Captive Finance. This role should be highly proficient in distributed systems, System Integrations (SOA & web services), JAVA/J2EE development, Websphere, Weblogic, Oracle development, UNIX scripting, Commercial schedulers (Control M) and Secure File transfers. Experience in IBM Process Server, BPM, Lombardi, BlueWorks Live and mobile technologies highly preferred.
Education Required:
Bachelor's degree in the field of computer science or systems engineering
Advanced degree is preferred.
TOGAF certification is preferred
Experience Required:
- 10+ years of successful project delivery with a focus on solution design, architecture & integration
- 3+ years as a lead solution designer or lead solution architect; position is accountable for technical designs
- Exceptional oral communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills required; ability to partner with business counterparts and present technical solutions at all levels of the organization.
- Experience in requirements definition; prior work as a Business Analyst a plus
- Experience in large scale system replacements, migrations and upgrades.
- Experience in distributed applications and IBM Websphere Application Server in a highly available environment
- Strong integration skills leveraging SOA methods including J2EE, JMS, JDBC, SQL, BPEL, EJB, XML, & Web Services
- Experience in Oracle development, Oracle Weblogic, UNIX scripting, Commercial schedulers (Control M) and Secure File transfers a plus.
- Skilled in systems infrastructure, capacity planning, high availability, disaster recovery & Information Management
- Experience in IBM Process Server, BPM, BPEL, Websphere Integration Developer, Lombardi and BlueWorks Live highly preferred
- Experience authoring and participating in RFI/RFPs to analyze vendor solutions
- Experience with Daybreak, Oracle Financials or iFlex Loan Management systems a plus
- Experience with Loan Origination Systems and auto-decisioning a plus.
- Understanding of integrating applications to Voice (IVR/VRU) systems a plus.
- Experience in mobile development a plus (Apple & Android)
- Experience in captive financial services, Loan originations and Loan Servicing highly preferred
- Experience with formal SDLC and PMM methodologies
