Summary of Position:

Within the HDFS GIS Service Strategy & Portfolio Management area the Senior Project Manager for GIS Foundation will lead key IT technology infrastructure and software upgrade projects for the HDFS Business Unit and the HDFS Business Unit work plans associated with HDI enterprise projects. This role will support the HDFS CIO and Director of IT Delivery to delivery on key infrastructure (data center, server, network, storage, etc.), application (database and application servers), and continuous improvement (monitoring, problem resolution, and incident response) projects as part of the HDFS GIS Foundation portfolio. Sample projects may include network upgrades, data center migrations, application server upgrades and database upgrades. The role will provide the project leadership to Initiate, Plan, Execute, and Implement the projects to meet objectives within budget and on schedule. This role will report to the Process Technology Manager of Retail Originations and GIS Foundation and will collaborate with other business portfolio project and IT managers to manage overall project dependencies and resources.

Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities for this role include:

- Support the HDFS CIO, Director of IT, and Manager of Solution Design to deliver on approved HDFS GIS Foundation projects
- Report to and support the Process Technology Manager, Retail Origination and GIS Foundation in support of managing the portfolio of GIS Foundation Projects, Budgets, Resources, and results
- Manage GIS Foundation projects thru the Initiation, Planning, Execution, and Implementation and Close phases of a project
- Structure project plans and schedules to identify critical path activities and simplify complex sequencing across multiple projects
- Manage cross functional teams across departments, divisions, and vendor IT service providers
- Manage budget plans, forecast, actuals, and purchases associated with assigned projects
- Manage Clarity project plans, resource allocations, forecasting, status, and tracking
- Effectively manage project resource allocations, usage, and work activities
- Manage and report on project status, resource management, and financial management in support of GIS regular portfolio reporting and governance meetings
- Manage projects using the HDI Project Management Methodology (PMM) and Service Management Delivery Lifecycle (SDLC) processes and tools
- Manage vendor resources, SOW’s, deliverables and work associated with approved projects
- Meet project objectives on scope, budget, schedule and quality

Education Required:
- Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree preferred.

Experience Required:
The successful candidate will have the following experience and expertise:

- 10+ years of Project Management experience
- 5+ years’ experience managing and leading infrastructure related implementation in a highly available environment projects (i.e., data center migrations, server upgrades, database upgrades, storage upgrades, application server upgrades, etc.)
- MS Project Expert
- Clarity Practitioner
- Ability to manage 4-5 projects in parallel
- Ability to manage teams of 20 to 30 team members, contract, and vendor resources
- Effective at executive status reporting and presentation
- Effective at issues identification and management
- Effective at risk identification and management
- Effective team leader
- Highly self-motivated and self-directed.
- Ability to collaborate within a team while exercising independent judgment and initiative.
- Ability to work under pressure, meets deadlines, and be flexible in working on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Flexibility to work nights and weekends in support of technology implementations outside of business operational hours
- Technical knowledge of IBM WebSphere, Oracle databases, Cisco networks, VMware, and SAN storage highly preferred.
- PMP Project Management Certification (a plus)
- ITSM/ITIL Certification (a plus)
- Travel (20%)

This position will be open in Plano, TX only.
