Job Summary
POSITION SUMMARY

This position can be filled in Plano, TX or Chicago, IL.

The Project Manager performs all project management responsibilities, managing and administering multiple enterprise projects and programs concurrently and is accountable for delivering project value and business results. The Project Manager plans, directs and coordinates day-to-day operational activities of a project utilizing standardized project management methodology including tools, templates and processes in order to ensure project goals are accomplished within defined scope, time, and cost constraints. The Project Manager will also prepare project presentations for all levels of the organization, including senior management. Throughout all projects, the Project Manager will lead, guide, support, and ensure adherence to organizational Project Management Methodology.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES


• Leads and motivates enterprise-wide project teams through the management of large scope projects and/or programs, resulting in measurable business value

• Serves as the Enterprise Program Manager and coordinates multiple work streams and the efforts of multiple project managers across functional areas to deliver overall solution

• Works closely with Finance team to review business cost benefit analyses, monitor project investment and determine appropriate revenue recognition, invoicing, and receivables for the project

• Partners with business owners to translate and document customer requirements and needs into project deliverables and goals

• Develops and maintains business cases for all project investments and tracks project NPV to compare and validate benefits-related claims

• Conducts business case realization tracking to measure results post project launch

• Identifies, tracks and reports team hours and resources by project and works with functional leadership to coordinate resource allocation

• Produces regular actionable updates and project reporting (including phase gates and summaries by stage) to monitor project execution and keeps management informed of project status and issues

• Ensures project documents are complete, current, and retained appropriately

• Communicates project information and ensures awareness of organizational changes to all key stakeholders on a regular basis

• Proactively assesses potential project risk and exposure throughout the project lifecycle, identifies options and contingency plans, and makes decisions regarding appropriate corrective actions to mitigates project risk

• Conducts project reviews and provides recap of project outcomes and deliverables to distill best practices and educate the organization on project management

• Works with senior leadership to assess project effectiveness and capture business value by stage-gate and challenges the status quo tactfully when needed

• Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion

• Implements appropriate organizational and cultural change management methods and measurements for a project

• Develops and selects content/materials and facilitates project management workshops for employees at all levels

• Coaches and mentors employees in project management practices

• Collaborates with other Project Managers as necessary, across the organization to ensure acceptable allocation of shared resources, and organized workflow between functions

• Builds industry relations through industry networking and remains on the forefront of emerging industry best practices

Education Required

• Requires 4 year college degree

Experience Required
EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE


• Minimum 5 years of financial services industry experience in related roles

• Project Management certification - PMP

• Project management experience with at least 5 enterprise wide projects in leadership role

• Requires in-depth knowledge of the organization’s products/services

• Requires expertise with MS productivity and project management tools (MS Project, MS Office products)

• Excellent skills as a communicator and facilitator, both written and oral, with strong negotiation, conflict resolution and influencing skills to effectively deal with issues that may arise in the project team or with vendors/clients, etc.

• Proven analytical, problem solving, and decision making abilities

• Ability to understands basic revenue models, P/L, and cost-to-completion projections and makes business decisions accordingly

• Efficient team and meeting management skills

• Adherence to high ethical standards of truthfulness, honesty, and fairness

• Able to manage and administer multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously
